Boat life.
For active holidays, paddling is a great alternative and Ål is a good starting point. Paddling gives you a unique possibility to explore the nature in a new way. In a canoe or kayak you can padle camly over small lakes or take a longer trip in the dams high up in the mountains.

On the high mountians more than 1000 masl there are many small and large water ideal for paddling. In the Bergsjø and Rødungen area you can paddle longer trips in fantastic mountainous landscape which always offers something new. It is also very nice to paddle the Stolslake and take a break at Iungsdalen Touristcabin.

Boat hire.
In Hallingdal Holiday Park you can paddle in Strandafjorden, which is a great family activity. Boat rental at Hallingdal Holiday Park includes life wests.

At Bergsjøstølen you can hire row boats, canoes and kayaks, and also motor boat if you fancy fishing in the lake Bergsjøen.
Rødungstøl Høyfjellshotell also offers boat rental and has row boats for hire.
Iungsdalen Tourist Cabin has 3 row boats for hire/loan.
