Ål in Hallingdal's location halfway between Oslo and Bergen makes it an ideal destination to experience real Norwegian summer and winter.
The shortest route between Oslo and Bergen is along Rv7, and right in the middle you find Ål in Hallingdal. Take the main road from Oslo towards the west following signs to Bergen. The driving time is about 2,5 hours by car (198 kilometres). Rv7 from Bergen to Ål is 262 kilometres and takes about 3 hours and 45 minutes.
The train journey with the Bergen Railway takes you through some beautiful scenery. Ål station is centrally located close to the centre of Ål and The Bergen Railway has 5 departures between Oslo and Bergen every day. It takes approximately 3,5 hours to reach Ål in Hallingdal by train from Oslo or Bergen.
You can take a detour with The Flåm Railway from the high mountain station at Myrdal and down to Flåm located at the bottom of the Sognefjord.

Nettbuss Hallingdal Billag AS drives Hallingbussen between Oslo and Geilo, as well as the local routes in Hallingdal. During the summer season you can also go to and from Aurland, Flåm and Gudvangen. In addition, NOR-WAY Bussekspress also has a route from Oslo via Gol to Førde.
